How many of you guys play video games, and if you do how old are you ? My roomates (all 5 of them) are 21-22 years old and they all are obsessed with video games. I'm talking some of them play video games 5-6 hours a day. They'll stay up till 3,4 even 5 AM playing video games and then not goto class the next day. Granted I'm a few years older then these guys, but I stopped playing video games after I graduated HS. I think it is another sign of America going down the tubes. |

World of Warcraft, C&C Generals, Sim City 4, Need for Speed Underground 2, Mercenaries, as of tonight, Gran Turismo 4, and quite a few others. It's just a hobby, and I don't play every day, maybe 5-6 days out of the week. During week days not more than an hour or 2 though, gotta go to work every morning, and class some nights. Games are fun, but there are other more important things. I can say I have (and still do) stayed up till 3, 4, and 5 in the morning playing on a weekend. ETA: I'm 21 |

26, don't play. If I'm not working I'm usually doing something outside. Of course it helps that I don't have a computer at home that's capable of playing any of the modern games. Besides, I'd rather spend money on guns and other things than dropping a couple of thousand on a computer that will be able to play games for two or three years before becoming obsolete and worthless. Computers have worse resale value than cars do. Guns will stay valuable forever. |

I have actually read a study that for some reason, video games relax men the same as decompressing (you know the tlaking when the GF gets home) for women. So while some see it as laziness, there is actually a relaxing benefit to it. The study went on to state that the test group, when they played a video game for 30 minutes when they woke up, were more relaxed, better learners and better at performing their job. food for thought anyways. If we could keep it at 30 minutes instead of 7-9 hours. Did you know that now you can order pizza while you are playing everquest. Fat Ass Nation Ahoy! |
Well, I'm not really a noob at building computers. I've been doing that for years. How did you manage to put together a PC for $400 that can play anything out today? At high resolution and detail? $400 is what a top of the line video card costs alone...yeah, yeah, you can get one 90% as fast for half that, but that's just the video card...case, RAM, HDD, speakers, monitor, sound card, CPU, motherboard, etc, etc. still not included... |
I can definatly see that. Whenever I play some MGS in the morning, I really don't think about what I'm going to do after school. I stay focused. |
After-thanskgiving sales at local stores, and Newegg! free DDR ram with purchase of 80gig HD. Geforce 128meg card 1/2 off or so. AMD 2800+ processor on nice jetway board with onboard sound, $90 for 19" monitor @ Staples. Free periphials (Cd burner, mouse & speaker system) after rebate, etc. And cases w/300W+ power supplies are a dime a dozen. |

I'm 21. I play them but not regularly. Usually something like Rainbow Six, SWAT, or Splinter Cell has to come out before I go into game mode again. Though Knights of the Old Republic and Jedi Knight 1-4 were pretty good, those are about the only non tactical games I play. I haven't even gotten around to playing Half-Life 2 yet. Never played Halo either. Rather spend $50 on ammo than get a new game. |

I am 32 but have not played any in about 2 years. Before that I wasted a lot of time on online role playing games like Diablo, Ultima Online and Everquest. I have been known to take weeks of vacation from work and do nothing but play them all day and night. I actually get out and do things these days. |

Over 25 and play video games. I'm from the first videogame generation; mid/late 70s-early80s. I even wrote a few way back when on my Commodore 64. Basic was an easy language to learn and program. I also remember Fortran and Cobol...so there. ![]() DVD? What's that...we had paper tape, cards, and later, cassette tapes to store data. |
One of my friends like it so much he bought the soundtrack on CD !!!!!

My eyes ROCK !!! ... thanks for asking. Sounds like yours went well too! ![]() I still get a little blurriness in one eye at night, but they told me it was just dryness (the vision is fine in that eye) and that it'll go away over the next month or two. |
