Hey guys,

Does anybody know of a cheap bare-bones video editing software? I'm not looking for something that can add a ton of special effects or anything like that. I just need really basic functions. Basically I just want to cut the whole video into sections and put them on a DVD. I videotaped a friend's wedding and I need to get it from my sony video camera (8mm tapes) to DVD. I am an idiot when it comes to this stuff. I have the cable i need and everything, just no idea what software to use. Free is good. PLEASE HELP!

Microsoft Movie Maker.

I use Vegas 5.0 as well, but it's not free.

Window live movie maker.

You should be able to get it for free. I have "edited" some awesome videos with it. I like the older versions over the newer versions.

Upload the video and save it to your hard drive. Import the video and edit as needed.

Get Sony Vegas Movie Studio.

http://www.sonycreativesoftware.com/moviestudiohd

Only $50, and it is a stripped down version of Sony Vegas/Platinum.

Very powerful tool for not very much money. It is easy to learn and runs very well.
