Hey Y'all, I'm thinking about a used 2017 (or newer) Maxima as a weekend/road-trip car. I'm retired and would probably drive it less than 5k/year. I'm old-school so I want a naturally aspirated V6 in the 300 HP range with under 70k miles. I've looked at Infinity G37s but very few low mileage available. I'm concerned about the CVT in the Maxima. Would like to hear from anyone with ACTUAL experience with the Maxima. Thanks! |

Subaru and VW have also lost at least 1, more likely multiple, class action suits over their CVTs. CVTs being a POS is not a Nissan exclusive thing. CVTs are just, by nature, shit. That said, a coworker has a 300k mile Altima with the factory fluid in the CVT. |
| My wife had a 2007 maxima with over 200,000 miles. Outside of normal wear items like brakes, struts, and fluids. There were no issues....however I did change the CVT fluid every 25,000 to 30,000 miles. It was totaled in a hail storm. |
