I've got Xenon lights under my cabinets now. They are really hot and the units that are over the toaster and kettle have a bit of rust due to condensation. I'd use them more if they weren't heating the kitchen and running up the power bill.
Anyone have a good source for hardwired linkable units with warm white LEDs? I need a couple different length ranging from about 12" to 22". |

I just finished a lighting project under my cabinets in the garage. I used LED Light Tape purchased from Amazon. I used a Cool ~6000K light out there, but you can get warmer temps.
It was super simple. It's 12VDC and the sellers have various connectors to make it a solderless installation. The tape can be cut to just about any length you want (within a few inches). There's a lot of videos out there that walk you through the process. Thus far, I've been very pleased with my results and it was A LOT cheaper than going the Home Depot / Lowes Route. |

Have you looked at IKEA?
They usually have pretty innovative products at affordable prices. jonblack |

I used these led strips in my safe with amazing results.
You can get them on Amazon for $32 shipped if you have prime. You can link multiple series of these to achieve the desired length. It comes with a remote that you can set the color, set them to blink, or pick your own custom color. It has everything needed right in the box. LED Link |

I used these http://www.amazon.com/LEDwholesalers-Meter-Flexible-Adhesive-2026WW-31K/dp/B002QQ48TK/ref=sr_1_4?s=hi&ie=UTF8&qid=1391470784&sr=1-4
I bought both the warm white and cool white.. the warm was too yellow and the cool was too blue... but when they are side by side I got a perfect color IMO. I also used a PC power supply that I had. LED lighting is super expensive from other places but these tapes were only about $15 each. |

LED Link We are building a wet bar and I have been looking into LED strip lights for some under and in cabinet lighting. Anyone ever hard wire them in versus plugging them into an outlet? I don't want a cord hanging down, just trying to keep everything neat. Because they are low voltage can I use any low voltage rated wire to separate them into different lengths? |

I hardwired mine in with a PC power supply as the 12VDC power source. I used 16ga stranded wire in my application.
