Not much to Trinidad. I go through there all the time. Never seen a "police" unit. Didn't even think Trinidad was big enough to have a PD. Maybe they splurged and got one so they could be a Hwy 31 speed trap like Kerens, Malakoff, & Brownsboro. |

"We had a post" will now become the norm soon. I will wait for more specific info to shake out but It doesn't surprise me that the "culture" isn't expanding it's horizon. If any of this is remotely true, some accountability would be really nice. And not after 4+ years. |

If you want to reform law enforcement, you just need to do two things, and they are free: 1) Eliminate qualified immunity; and 2) Make it illegal for state and local governments to indemnify LEO's who are successfully sued (defense still allowed, but they can't pay the judgments). |

| I frequently pray to an unloving God that I get arrested for something like this, because I would love for my great-great-great-great grandchildren to never have to worry about money ever. My lawyer would make the shower scene in American History X look like Sunday tea by comparison, which is exactly what this department and municipality deserve. And I'm pro law enforcement. |

The only question in this case will be "How much can we pay to make this right?" 100% clear violation of her civil rights. And the police chief, who doubled down on this stupidity, needs to be fired. I seriously can't believe a police department in this day and age, would be this stupid. And THEN try to double down on their stupidity when it is very clear cut a very bad arrest. She WILL get paid, and deserves every bit of it. She can now move away from the bad water and the city suffers more financial loss and can't fix the pipes. |
