Anyone here have a Tri Power? How do they compare to Aimpoint comp M's? Thanks to all who respond.

I heard a lot of bad things about these about a year ago when I was looking into them... seems like a neat idea though, anyone know if the bugs have been worked out?

Hard to believe Trijcon would put out crapola products. Hmmmm.

my take, the reticle is worth all the 'bad flak' you here.  ridiculously useful reticle at 10 and 200 yards as well as at cqb ranges.  plus the aiming point does not have to cover target, which is a plus for me.  As a reflex, its VERY substandard, don't be fooled.  with cyalume its brite, with battery operation (standard operation) i think it's the best red dot sight available today.   I find the controls much easier to use with gloves and much easer to use under duress.  The aimpoint knobs piss the hell outta me, to tell you the truth.

Be warned though, here come the aimpointers......

I heard Trijicon is coming out with an aluminum version sometime later in the year. I have an Aimpoint and was thinking about getting a Tri Power.

I simply cannot understand why Trijicon didn't just make a 1x ACOG with a lightstick backup.  That would be a "tri-power"  and would have been a GREAT optic.

I continue to be amazed at how good is the fibre optic system on the ACOG.  It  almost always puts the reticle at the proper intensity, with the only weak point being indoors in the daytime looking outside or onto a bright surface.  A lightstick would have been the cure for that limited situation.

The whole POINT of the Tri-Power is that it's supposed to work using ambient light most of the time.  Unfortunately, it doesn't, which means you end up using the battery most of the time, and battery life is short.

An AimPoint CompM2 or ML2 has 3-5,000 of realistic run time on a single battery.  That is a LONG time, even if you forget and leave it on for a week.  Leave a TriPower on for a week, and you'll have a dead battery.

Trijicon's concept is good, but there execution just wasn't up to par.  I hope they are going back to the drawing board, because if they can get it right, it will be a great option.

Troy, great information as usual!!! Thanks for your time. On that note and your info I am going to pass on the Tri Power. I know some people probably love it but I think I will wait to see if they get it right.
