I'm looking at a 93 F250 for sale. Feller selling it says the torque converter is bad, on account it slips (or some such). By my way of thinking, might be the tranny is bad, not the torque converter. Any mechanics out there know what I can ask/look at to discern what's causing this malfunction.
As always, thank you in advance for your insight. |

Quoted: Quoted: Figure both are bad and the cooler is filled with crap and needs replaced also. He's saying it's only $200 to fix the TC. With trans and cooler could be 2k, right? If it was only a $200 repair, he would have done it already. This is like the car for sale that runs rough but only needs a "tune up" (but really has a burned valve). |

If it was $200, he'd have fixed it already. Figure a couple grand depending on what is found when opened up or buy a reman, throw in a new TC and blow out the cooler lines and replace the cooler. Thanks By the way, I like the Idocracy reference. For your help, get you a Brawndo on me. |
