I am looking at buying some plastic inert bullets for training.  I have seen them somewhere in a catalog, but i can not find it now.  Looking for 12 gauge primarily.

Any ideas?

Are you talking about the plastic rounds for dry firing and clearance drills? If so, I'll ask my Capt were he gets ours. The ones that I strongly recommend are the blaze orange shells that are loaded into metal cases with plastic primers. These are great and the case rims don't break after extreme usage. During our weapons instructor course several agencies provided the solid plastic training rounds and after several loadings and reloadings the case rims broke off during extraction.

I got some through the Remmington 870 armorer course.  The have lead shot in them to give them the feel of reael rounds.  They are clear plaastic.  You might want to contact Remmington LE rep, maybe he can get you some.

Brownells sells orange all-plastic “Saf-T-Trainers” inert rounds.  However, like cmoth says, they will break after being used a bit.  On the other hand, they’re fairly cheap.

Brownells also sells Action Proving Dummies, which are designed more for a gunsmith testing a shotgun.  They weight the same as a live round and, IMHO, are a bit too realistic for training.

Lastly, Brownells sells Armsport Deluxe Snap Caps, which are plastic with a metal base.  These are more expensive than the others, but work nicely.

YES!!!  The bright orange ones.

I need them to practice loading and unloading drills.

Our department is one the cheap with the really tight budget, so I want to get my own pratice in.

Thanks, let me know.  I will see if I have a brownell's catalog in the meantime.

The orange ones just don't hold up well and are the wrong weight to do much of anything with...I use only the plastic ones with shot in them...from Brownells.

Streicher's police supply (WI/MN/IA) has some - I think they're the ONG ones.
I think I saw some FS at ?bluegun.com? (The competitors to "red" inert training guns)
