Don't know if this is in the right forum or not but...

I was offered a trade on a scope I have for sale and I was wondering if there is any kind of safety net when trading? The guy has a low post count and he doesn't necessarily sound sketchy but I'm weary of sending off a $300 scope and trusting someone I don't know to send his part of the deal. Is there any way I can insure the item so that if he doesn't send me anything back, as was agreed upon, that I won't be out a $300 scope?

Well if you have his money trade item, that seems pretty safe.

A guy with a post count of 200 saying another poster has a low post count?

If he has little or no feedback, he can send first, and  you send when you receive.

Maybe he is thinking the same. Generally a trade both persons ship at the same time.

Maybe he wants you to ship first.

If you don't trust him, don't trade. There is always going to be some risk.

Yet he has more positive EE transactions than a member with 11000 posts.
