Maybe some people here will find this interesting.

Tour Divide 2015, a 2700 mountain bike race from Banff, Canada to Antelope Wells, New Mexico (USA/Mexico border station), started yesterday at 9:00 am.  At the time of this post, the four leaders have ridden 300 miles.  The route crosses the Continental Divide numerous times (hence the name) and the riders climb the equivalent of Mount Everest seven times (200,000 feet).  This is a bikepacking ultra-endurance race and the riders are fully self-sufficient and riding rigs like I've shown below.  All of the riders are carrying SPOT GPS trackers and you can watch the race in almost real time at  Tour Divide 2015 Livetracker  The marker labeled "J" is Jay Petervary and he has the world record, riding the 2700+ miles in 15 days and a few hours.  I want to see if he can top that this year.
