When you put anbesol on a sore tooth or gum, does it hurt more or become more sensitive once the anbesol wears off?

Take a shot of wiskey and hold it in your mouth as long as you can covering the tooth. Then swallow. Repeat and pretty soon you wont care if yopur tooth hurts or not.

Pain meds, ask for them. Take what you need then keep the rest in the safe for just such an occasion as this. Never know when you'll need them.

I've found that ibuprofen based pain meds work wonders on tooth pains.   Don't know why.

i just had my first root canal a couple weeks ago.  before the endodontist fixed me up, the pain was unbearable.  pain meds were useless - hydrocodone didn't put so much as a dent in the pain.  tramadol and acetaminophen worked slightly better, but still nowhere near enough.

but a big +1 on saving the pain meds.  it's nice having spare painkillers and antibiotics on hand for when you really need them.

oh, and trollaccount, anbesol is commonly used for sexual purposes.  it helps relieve the gag reflex, and i've known a few people who report that it works for anal.

If you can take Advil... take 200mg.
I weigh 150 ... when my dentist prescribed ibuprofen (Advil ) he said I could take up to 600 mg. with LOTS of water.

Do not take anything that stimulates or thins blood ( aspirin, booze etc ).

He was right ... no codine for me.

Ok, I could see people being worried if they were ingesting it.  But you are applying it.
If I'm not mistaken, San Antonio has fluoride in their water supply.  i haven't gone crazy yet

Besides toothpaste, I also use ACT mouth wash nightly.  Heavy decalcification has made my enamel weak, so the more minerals I can get into the teeth, the better!
