I just bought a Remington 700 stainless with composite stock in .300RUM  Anyhow I've always free floated wood stocks but dunno if I should do that with the composite.  There's two little nubs at the end of the forearm and I need to know if it's okay to buzz em out with the dremel or not?   Also is it worthwhile to glass bed such a tight fitting stock???  HELP!!

I took a dremel to my 700 VS a couple of months ago. I took that little half ring out of the fore end before bedding the stock.

My stocks were laminated wood so they shouldn't change the point of impact with moisture but I was more concerned about heat as I shoot in the desert.

I haven't started to custom load for it nor have I done any serious slow fire from a bench work but it will do minute of angle from a bi-pod with cheap ammo when I do my part.

Have a look over at The Armory community under the Percission Rifle forum.
