So my 2019 Colorado Z71 has Firestone Destination A/T 2 265/65/17 tires on it, they were on it when I bought it. They are all terrain tires and haven't had any issues but looking to put a new set on in the next month or so as they are getting a bit worn. I don't do a lot of rugged off roading so I'm not sure I need another set of AT tires but these have been pretty good. If I get all season tires instead I'm assuming I'll get a bit more MPG out of the vehicle and lose a bit of traction offroad. How much of a difference does this kind of change make? Also, all the sites are showing I should have a 255 and 265 don't fit, despite that being on the truck. Does that small change much any real difference in handling, traction, etc? |

255 could have been an optional smaller size for some trim levels. I'd stay with 265, I've never gone smaller on a tire. Narrower, sure, for winter tires on different wheels, but not for summer. We run light truck tires on our Jeeps. Generally a deeper starting tread depth, and a more rugged tire. Which matters to me for towing. I haven't really noticed a fuel economy difference on my wife's WK2, but we also upsized the tires slightly on hers, and slightly more on mine. I do know a heavier tire will test the dampers on your vehicle, especially if you're increasing tire pressure to achieve the same load rating as the passenger tire. Might get a little better mpg with most-season street tires. I've never worried about that, though. Traction, durability, tread depth (and design) are usually what I'm looking for, a few bucks here and there for fuel economy isn't even on my radar. |

I have new tires going on my 2021 elevation. Has KO2s now, wally world has the cooper discoverer all terrain on sale for 169 each. 850.00 with tax and install. Good reviews, rain, snow, not 3 peak though but should work fine for Washington. I can't honestly for my needs see paying twice that and up for tires that are probably better, just don't need them, way mor hyw driving then not.. Not sure what the the big difference is AT or AS, but they are a good price. Any "walmart exclusive" tire at a cheap price is there for a reason. But he also had road hazard on them, so he keeps getting them replaced under warranty, cheap. I have always run AT tires on any of my daily-driver 4x4s. Falken tires have treated me well over the years. They do well in the winter but don't last as long. I had a set of Hankook Dynapro ATs on my f150 with 80k on them. They sucked in the winter, but I got a ton of miles out of them. My Silverado has a set of Open Range AT Plus on it. It did great in the winter. |

Personally, I own a truck to do truck things. So, I have truck tires on it. I prefer a more aggressive AT tire for most truck things. Not a big fan of MT tires in general. They certainly have their place but for my uses, aggressive AT tires are the best. I realize the OP has bought tires. But just for information, I currently have Mastercraft Courser CXT tires on my F150. They actually look a bit like MT tires but they are fairly quiet. I was going to get the same tires for my newest Jeep but they didn’t have the size I wanted. Appears they might be phasing out the CXT tires…..not sure. So, I got the Mastercraft Courser Trail RT tires for the Jeep. I like them even better than the CXT tires. Pretty quiet on road and good traction off road. |

| AT tread is good enough for me. I was torn between all season truck tires or all terrain but just went with the all terrain tires. I need to get another set of wheels and some real off road tires that I can swap out...but I don't spend a lot of time in deep mud or rocks. |
