Mostly print labels to mail stuff for EE sales, but occasionally  scan stuff.  Needs WiFi, too.  Looking in the $50-$150 range.

What do you guys think is a good model and deal.

Thanks in advance!

I have an HP 8610, and I love it.  Had it for about a year for my home office (I work a corporate job from home).  Never had an issue, and my only complaint is that the Paper Tray could be bigger.  Wireless network, mobile print, not too big.  It's an all-in-one so not sure if that's what you're looking for though.  Can scan/copy from the tray (multiple pages) or from the flat top (one of my requirements).

On Amazon for 119.99 (prime)

I recommend looking at colour laser all-in-ones. If you need the printer to have a scanner built in, then it doesn't make sense to go the disposable inkjet route, as the scanner will increase the cost of the printer to the point where it doesn't make sense to just toss it when the cartridge runs out/dries up.

Major drawbacks to colour laser all-in-ones are a) size and b) cost.

Cost can be minimized somewhat by buying refurbished models. You should be able to get a good refurb for $250 or less. Good news is, is that toner cartridges don't dry up and last ten times as long as inkjet cartridges so odds are one of these will last your for years and years.

Size on the other hand you can't do much about. You're going to need some desk or table space for it as they're significantly larger than your average inkjet.

I just got a HP8620 back in January. It's good to go- I forget what I paid for it.

Thanks for the responses, guys.  What about the Epson XP-520?

I've had nothing but good experiences with Brother printers.

I have a basic monochrome laser that is super-cheap to run, and I have a color laser all-in-one with wifi that can scan, duplex, and a lot of bells and whistles.  Both have been trouble-free.

Who uses printers anymore?

I like the MFC printers by Brother. Their ink cartridges are cheaper than HP's.

A few hundred million people or so, I'd guess.

Best printer I've owned so far. I tossed out a HP due to it needing me to constantly update or reload the software.

Try for one without a "smart chip' that monitors ink usage and disallows you to refill cartridges.  They are hard to find.

Brother MFC, I have had one for years without problems.
you can buy the individual colors and black cheaply on E-bay.

I have had Canon and Epson, that didn't last a year.

Brother for me from now on!
