I had a Chinese surplus type 56 years ago when they were coming in for $300 and hated it so I sold it. I can't even remember why I didn't like it. Maybe the short stock and stiffer recoil?
Recently I found a nearly brand new Norinco sks for $400 so I bought it for my unborn son. I always wanted an sks when I was young. Now my little boy will get one in about 14 years. |

I bought 3 for $169.00 from an ad in Shotgun News back in the 90's.
Gave one to my brother for his B-day and sold the other. Had I even considered they would have been worth what they are today I would have bought a whole case. I was going to buy back the one from my brother because he isn't into guns all that much. Unfortunately, he took it apart and lost all the parts. |

One place even gave you a trash bag and a can of gun degreaser for the yugo's. |

I love all the markings on that stock.

View Quote Yeah I think I paid 129 for it, it was mint like probably never fired. I sold one in a choate for 400, paid 150 for it, it was but ugly in that stock. I also sold one guy 800 rounds of m855 for 1k. He swore up and down it would be banned and he would flip it for 2 bucks a round. I have seen him a few times and once asked him about it. He had managed to get 5k of it for around 1-1.10 a round, and never sold a single round even thou he tried posting it for 2. |

This poor thing came to me after some years of neglect and after being dragged through a Tapco catalog. I just had to return it to proper form.

Sorry OP not a fan of the stock and changed out hardware. The SKS is one of the later, non-neutered real rifles we can own, I don't like changes to it.

I can smell this thread. I've owned a lot of milsurps over the years but nothing smells like an SKS.

Here are most of mine. I have a few that are still in the cosmoline so I didn't want to put those on the carpet. |
