My roommate did. I probably finger fucked that thing to death.

I had a Chinese surplus type 56 years ago when they were coming in for $300 and hated it so I sold it. I can't even remember why I didn't like it. Maybe the short stock and stiffer recoil?

Recently I found a nearly brand new Norinco sks for $400 so I bought it for my unborn son. I always wanted an sks when I was young. Now my little boy will get one in about 14 years.

I bought 3 for $169.00 from an ad in Shotgun News back in the 90's.
Gave one to my brother for his B-day and sold the other.  Had I even considered they would have been worth what they are today I would have bought a whole case.

I was going to buy back the one from my brother because he isn't into guns all that much.  Unfortunately, he took it apart and lost all the parts.

That's a wild price.

I remember in the gunshows here, yugo sks's for 79-89 and mosins for 69. One place even gave you a trash bag and a can of gun degreaser for the yugo's.

ETA/  Once I de-cosmolined it I gave it a light sanding and couple coats of boiled linseed oil.  Came out pretty good.

Yeah I think I paid 129 for it, it was mint like probably never fired.

I sold one in a choate for 400, paid 150 for it, it was but ugly in that stock.

I also sold one guy 800 rounds of m855 for 1k. He swore up and down it would be banned and he would flip it for 2 bucks a round. I have seen him a few times and once asked him about it. He had managed to get 5k of it for around 1-1.10 a round, and never sold a single round even thou he tried posting it for 2.

M59 Yugoslavian SKS:

Norinco SKS that I installed a siderail mount from Kalinka Optics and put a RS Regulate mount with a PA Micro Dot (need to get around to refinishing the stock, though):

First gun I bought/owned. A like-new condition 1978 M59/66A1.

Also had an excellent condition C-series M59. M59s were quite difficult to find in very good+ condition.

(Pictured with a like-new M98/48; Yugo refurbed K98k[1937 JP Sauer receiver]. $300 total for both rifles in 2006.)

I regret or kind of regret selling each of the three. Don't sell your guns, people.

Sorry OP not a fan of the stock and changed out hardware. The SKS is one of the later, non-neutered real rifles we can own, I don't like changes to it.

Sino-Soviet ?

From when the Russians helped the Chinese set-up SKS production.

About as good as you'll ever find an M59, minus Clockwork183s one.  Storage dings only, that one above the front of the trigger guard is the worst of it.

M59 are uncommon, especially in fine condition as any sent back through 're-arsenaling' for any reason were converted to the M59/66 version. So any still existing M59 rifles never went back, at least until they were put into storage long after 59-66 program was over.

Indeed, I think the Yugo's said 'fuck it' and dipped entire rifles into molten (viscous) cosmo before storage.

Right?

Even after a deep clean, two years later it will resurface!

Just sold this Norinco Paratrooper on gunbroker for $1,200. No reason why it went so high but I don't.
