Not a parody thread. The military already trusts FN with the M240, M4, and the M249 SAW—some of the most critical weapons in the arsenal. Why not handguns too? The FN 509 and FNX-45 Tactical are dependable, easy to field strip, simple to operate, and proven to run under harsh conditions. FN knows how to make a duty weapon that holds up in real-world combat. No drop fire issues, no questionable recalls—just solid engineering and combat-grade performance. You can disagree, but you would be wrong. (The military) |

Get CZ to make the P01, an already NATO accepted model, with a shorter reach trigger as half the humans with less than long fingers get a poor purchase on what is in the gun, which is excessively long DA pull. Same issue with the Beretta m9. Screw plastic frames in combat guns. |

TRUST NO ONE. PS: The FN 509 has passed testing with LAPD, NYPD and DHS (though not selected by DHS). It’s an accurate and reliable handgun. However, there are a lot of issues with the 509 from an institutional / armory point of view which make keeping a fleet of them running a giant PITA. That said, every prior FN polymer handgun (FNP, FNX and especially the FNS) are trash. The FNS is particularly notorious for 1) not running reliably with a weapons mounted light attached; and 2) for the sane type of “uncommanded discharges” in holsters that we are seeing with the SIG P320. Both the Arizona Department of public safety and the Montgomery County Maryland police department had issues with the FNS going off by itself without a trigger Pull. In fairness to FN, once they got serious about making a real duty pistol the 509 is a huge improvement over anything they offered before. |
