Those are Bangladeshi (or Bengal) troops stationed in Bunia (City in the Democratic Republic of Congo) for the MUNOC operation.
Bangladesh used the SKS for years which was "replaced" by the G3 which is now being phased out in favor of Type 56 carbines and Chinese AKs while a new rifle is being designed/approved that will also use the 7.62 x 39 cartridge. Apparently their G3s crapped out
Only one division is left using G3s.
The troops in this pic are probly just using old rifles, for whatever reason. They are definately SKSs but the fixed mags have been removed. This threw me off as I had no idea a
reliable removable mag system was available for the SKS... fancy that.
So... no Berettas or anything fancy.
