Who's seen it? Was it anti-geek, or pro-geek? How was the portrayal of The Zuck?

Saw it last Friday.  I thought it was a well-made film.  It's neither pro-geek nor anti-geek, but it's definitely anti-Zuckerberg.  The movie portrays him as a pretty heartless, vindictive guy.  It's definitely worth checking out if your even remotely interested in the story.

Behind every great fortune lies a great crime.

Yeah, the reviews make me really want to see it.  I actually might join Facebook now that they have all the new privacy and user controls.

I saw it last night, and after hearing Leo Laporte and Jeff Jarvis basically say it came off very anti-geek/woman and vilified Zuckerberg to an extent, I was pleasantly surprised. I know its fiction with some factual elements, but the film was very well made, and the story, full of half-truths and artistic license it may be, but it did grab you and bring you into the characters. Not bad, though if I were a real person who's only public persona will be from this film, I doubt I'd be as happy a camper.

They did pick really good actors for Bill Gates and Prince Albert. It was almost like they had walk on cameos.

Oh, and...

Sorry, the fanboy in me had to get that out of my system!

That probably why, on the day of its release, Zuckerberg donated $100 million (in Facebook stock) to the Newark, NJ public school system.

Nevertheless, if the events of the movie played out as shown, I would be LIVID if I was Eduardo Saverin.

So, people will have to stop wasting all their time on facebook so they can go see a movie about facebook?  I don't understand the world anymore.

This. Again,

I refuse to join. My wife has an account that she updates once in awhile. She shares baby pics with family members, which I don't have a problem with.  Why do people think that everyone wants to know what they are doing all of the time? My dopey brother updates his from his crackberry all the time. Dude, no one cares. You want to impress me, keep a job longer than 6 months. Or the people who play those lame ass facebook games all day. Are you kidding me? Go take a walk or something.
Sorry for the rant.

I do go on every week or two to read Michael Yon's updates though.
