It's been a few hours since I watched this movie and I can't get it out of my head.  This movie has given me a introspective like I have never had before.....wow!

Must admit it's still on my list of "one to watch" .... wife not a fan of wolves..
While I tend to like the guy, it feels like he's starting to make too many movies/year.

Just my opinion.

You might not be surprised at the number of people who don't take me seriously.

Seriously.

I was underwhelmed. Nothing new about movies that show a broken man finding the will to live again through adversity. The visualization was weak and cartoonish onscreen. It would probably be a good novel though.

Great film.

Very real characters and that I'm sure most of us here have known guys like that.  I thought it was a great flick. Worth owning on DVD IMHO.

I kind of thought that at first, then realized he was probably trying to keep working to get past the death of his real life wife. I don't blame him for that.

I mean honestly, could any of you watch this movie & not get that vibe?

Just finished watching it myself.  The damned wolf CGIs looked like shit.

Yeah, they should have just used real Timber Wolves.  They didn't have much of a choice and had to go CGI and unfortunately CGI just isn't there yet for living things.

One interpretation I pondered is that he (Liam Neeson) was in Limbo and had to choose an honorable death before he could truly pass on.

Interesting interpretation, but why? What would have been his sin?

I just watched it.  I thought it was excellent.  I want to discuss the ending, but to do so would be a spoiler for sure.

You should share it. That's what these threads are for. I appreciated it as much as I appreciated that we, the audience, were not subjected to a Liam Neeson/alpha wolf Hollywood showdown. I enjoyed the movie for what it was.

I, too, can't help but feel that the script was cathartic for him in some way in light of the real life death of his wife.

The movie was good. I liked the fell it gave when you saw those wolves running out of the tree line.  But I did not like the CGI wolves either. If you are going to CGI, would have looked better to use a trained k9 and enlarge it later.

I can't imagine how hopeless and defeated they would of felt.  Try walking any distance in those conditions and then add a relentless pursuit.  Death would of been welcome for most.

This.  I expected more.  Although I did enjoy some of the character development.  The predicable and unrealistic actions of the wolves plus the poor CGI were just too difficult to overcome in terms of me giving this movie a thumbs up.

not the best, not the worst but I am alway's fascinated by the human spirit - some lay down & some push on.

Definately a film about role reversal.

What I took from it is it's much better to die not being afraid (like how he comforted the passenger on the plane with a step by step playbook).

the comment about eating the wolf was worth watching it.

I watched it with friends and two of us really liked it. The other guy thought it was essentially a chick flick described as a manly movie.

I think they did a good job keeping the wolves out of the picture, it was less a movie about wolves and more about men trying to survive..

My one friend got so obsessed with it, he watched it again the same night with the director's commentary. "Helicopters, I swore I heard helicopters." Interesting

I watched it on the flight out to UT this week.  Lets just say it was not good timing leaving my 2.5 year old little girl behind.  Then we hit bad turbulence over CO.  Depending on how you look at things, it really gives you time to think about your life and where you are heading.

I know that Coyotes and Wolves are not the same.  I experienced a very similar situation several years ago when I went late to lock up the chicken coop.  The coyotes had already started a kill and I walked up into the middle of it.  It was a very freaky feeling being surrounded by a dozen sets of eyes.  I shot 2 and the rest did not leave.  They were so determined to get a chicken that the gun shots did not scare them.  Not a good feeling at all.

I have hiked into a cabin in deep snow many times and I so could feel their exhaustion.

Glowing eyes?

After watching the movie, I was sleeping and woke up to glowing eyes in the room. Turned out to be my Meprolight nightsights! Scary for a second there.

AR-15.  Once I realized they were not leaving, I slowly backed down the hill after shutting the coop door.

I was thinking "lord of the flies".

I think I have "There will be blood" and "Rampart" downloaded.
