That's what they're calling the debt limit increase now, The Deficit Reduction Agreement. Yeah, they vow to trim $100 Billion per year off of a $4 TRILLION budget while borrowing another $2.7 TRILLION and all of the sudden it's a Deficit Reduction.

These fuckers must think we're complete fucking morons, like drooling down the front of our shirt retards or something.

That's OK. I wouldn't want to be in their shoes when the budget/debt/deficit problem solves itself.

The average American may just be dumb enough to believe it.

No, what they think is that this solution is better than plunging the whole world in to a great Depression. That is, they simply kicked the can down the road again.

In many cases they'd be right. The vast majority of Americans could care less about the debt, as long as they think they'll get "their" benefits and someone else will have to pay for them.

This deal is going to plunge us and the world into a depression. It isn't going to kick it down the road or make things better. It is going to make things worse.

No, I would say that the average American doesn't give a fuck...my wife and her friends included. As long as there are shopping malls, fancy restaurants, and cable tv, it doesn't matter what happens in DC to them.
