By the specs, it could be serious competition for the Maverick, and for those not wanting the light duty electric Slate, but want the form factor, this might be it. I hope the low price auto market does well. We need to see more affordable options. I saw that Slate's price leaked, it should be $25k. I would maybe consider that. I'd want the shell and rear seats, but I could absolutely use one as a runabout and commuter vehicle. I don't need a huge towing capacity. I'd just want about as much interior and hauling capacity as my CR-V. |

I'd love to have an original REO Speedwagon or one of their 30s sedans, with no idea what these new vehicle look like I'll wait. That said, yeah, if it's pretty basic then I may actually be interested. The only conveniences I want are power windows and doors and A/C and it should have keyed entry on both front doors. I prefer an analog dash and I don't want a bunch of telemetry and "smart" gizmos, a basic radio that I can connect a phone to or put a SD card in is just fine (and what I have in my truck now). ETA- For those who don't know, the REO Speedwagon was a real truck and where the band got its name. They also made military vehicles during the war. |

I like what I see so far, gas I4 engine, manual trans. some more detail please. What engine? some Toyota or Honda engine I suspect. looks like the old s-10 size or even smaller. I can live with that. biggest downside so far is 4wd only it looks like. I put maybe 3-5K miles a year on a vehicle. I'd love a simple no frills vehicle. Tired of all the crap on new Vehicles. 87% I wouldn't or don't use. I'll hide and watch. I'll wait till they come out and have some time mfg under their belt before I'd pull the trigger. |

If it's the engine that made Africa (that and the low compression African spec Puegeot X family engines) Toyota 4Y EFI copy, fuck I'd be in. It's a OHV 22R with a double timing chain which even the Chinese could only fuck up marginally. But info is sparse and background isn't transparent |

Wow, you want a loaded vehicle, Power windows, power door locks, A/C, keyed entry. I'd doubt you'll see most of that stuff. On a small vehicle like that you don't need power windows and locks, it's easy to reach over and operate them. I suspect A/C might be an option, after all vast majority of Americans are too soft to go without. I'd love a no A/C vehicle, I only use the A/C in my car now when the wife is along and then only if its over 80 outside. 2 55 air baby!! |

Lemme take a shot at this: Typical startup model: 1. Customers "reserve a spot" 2. Use extra capitol to push for product development 3. Product gets delayed a few years 4. Investors start cashing out and re-invest in another startup with the same business-model 5. product finally gets released years later with half the features it originally promised. 6. Company shifts their model to a subscription based service and incrementally increases prices every year. In this case I'll assume you'll need the subscription for extra add-ons like power windows. They won't call it a subscription, more of a "membership fee" to access discounted parts, add-ons, and maintenance. Did I miss anything? |

Alpha Wolf is the one that I always think of, and where did that end up? Biggest difference here is attracting the "I wanted a Slate but with a gas motor" crew and with a $25 deposit I'm sure they'll pack in a few hardbody enthusiasts who have no intention on following through but can dream for a little while. |
