A study did show Ashwaganda increased T in men being screened for infertility, so there's at least that.. Treatment of infertile men recovered the seminal plasma levels of antioxidant enzymes and vitamins A, C, and E and corrected fructose. Moreover, treatment also significantly increased serum T and LH and reduced the levels of FSH and PRL. Conclusion(s): The treatment with W. somnifera effectively reduced oxidative stress, as assessed by decreased levels of various oxidants and improved level of diverse antioxidants. Moreover, the levels of T, LH, FSH and PRL, good indicators of semen quality, were also reversed in infertile subjects after treatment with the herbal preparation. Compared to the placebo subjects, the subjects receiving ashwagandha also had significantly greater reduction of exercise-induced muscle damage as indicated by the stabilization of serum creatine kinase (Placebo: 1307.5 U/L, 95% CI, 1202.8, 1412.1, vs. Ashwagandha: 1462.6 U/L, 95% CI, 1366.2, 1559.1; p = 0.03), significantly greater increase in testosterone level (Placebo: 18.0 ng/dL, 95% CI, -15.8, 51.8 vs. Ashwagandha: 96.2 ng/dL, 95% CI, 54.7, 137.5; p = 0.004), and a significantly greater decrease in body fat percentage (Placebo: 1.5%, 95% CI, 0.4%, 2.6% vs. Ashwagandha: 3.5%, 95% CI, 2.0%, 4.9%; p = 0.03). Conclusion: This study reports that ashwagandha supplementation is associated with significant increases in muscle mass and strength and suggests that ashwagandha supplementation may be useful in conjunction with a resistance training program. |

Get bloodwork done before changing anything. I've tracked mine for years, it's been as low as 250 and as high as 700. My bloodwork last week was just under 500. It changes seasonally, with general health (at 250 I was sick as a dog with the flu or something), and with how much sleep I'm getting. It's higher in the summer when I'm outside more and sleeping better, and generally lower in the winter. |

Without doing blood work to determine what you are deficit in. Its impossible to say if something will have any effectiveness at all. If you want to cover all your basis a good multi vitamin (I used Fairhaven Health FH Pro fertility multivitamin) can be useful. Along with Vitamin D3/K2. Research shows the most powerful/effective thing you can do to improve hormone function and testosterone. Is sleeping 8-9 hours a night on a consistent sleep schedule. I really wish it were as simple as taking some herbs/vitamins. But its not. You either fix your sleep or you inject testosterone. |
