I am not ghey. I don't make it either. I just don't see the thrill at firing at a target to cause a chemical reaction that would blow it up. It would be interesting for awhile. But, it seems to be a way to pass time. |
Video's of it are quite underwhelming in comparison to experiencing it first hand. It is MUCH louder than you'd expect and you can feel the concussion quite a ways away. |
What caused the change of opinion, fondling your balls? Just kidding you man. Truely, if you ever experienced the explosion first hand you would grin from ear to ear (if you have a pulse.) I've introduced it to about 10 people and every one of the opens their eyes real big and says some form of explative. |
This translates to ROUGHLY one cup Ammonium Nitrate and one tablespoon of Aluminum Powder; that mixture works for me at least. You may have to adjust your mixture slightly. I take no responsibility for anyone blowing themselves up with this information. |
How dangerous is the mixing process? I mean, have you ever had any blow up from agressive stirring? Is mixing it with the "boat motor" hand mixer a bad idea? |
I don't use any sort of power mixer. I combine them in a tupperware type container and shake them up. I have not heard of anyone getting blown up while mixing, my comment was mostly tongue in cheek and to CMA. |
hmmmm my wife is a chem minor.... but all the labs are closed because it's exam week, and graduation thereafter. i'd rather graduate than fuck around making basement tannerite |
If you are lucky, you can find the Ammunium Nitrate locally at an agricultural supply store. I couldn;t and had to order mine. HazMat shipping turned a $10 bag of AN in to a $60 purchase. The aluminum powder can be found on eBay or at online pyrotechnic/firework supply stores. Make sure you get the finest powder you can find. |
