I'm sure I'm doing something stupid but I have TOL mod with an Elm head and the throw to activate is stupidly long.  It's a good 1/8 to 1/4" inch and the battery rattles around in there.  I've tried to adjust pins to no no effect an I'm at my wits end.

I'm sure I missed something and even as is this thing hits like a freight train but I'll bet you guys can help me make it better.

TIA!!!

Start by adjusting the switch to where you want it based on the throw. loosen both parts of the top pin so you can put your atomizer on flush. Turn the higher (larger) knurled part of the top pin so it is in good contact with the atty. Now put in the battery turn the lower part of the top pin (smaller) until it doesn't rattle but keep the larger part tight against the atty. Once it is all put together, you can adjust the throw again by turning the bottom switch in or out.

I've tried that.  Didn't work for me but I don't care too much, this is my first subohm build.  Holy Shit!!!  Freight train comes to mind and this is only .7.  But Damn it burns through juice.

Being that I have the same combo, perhaps I can offer some help.

First off.

The switch pin holds the switch together on almost all mech mods.. make it anything other than tight and run the risk of losing parts, auto firing, arcing, and other fun stuff.

Now that the safety stuff is out of the way.
All I had to do was drop in a battery, loosen the center pin cap on the elm and test fit.
If I had battery rattle, I loosened it some more. Repeat as needed.

Both my ToL and elm are by infinite if that helps.

Ah - when I tried the switch pin all the way tight it wouldn't fire. Maybe I should try again

Here's a pic of mine.

Sony VTC4 inside, switch all the way tight. The pin cap on the elm has been adjusted for no battery rattle, but not adjusted too long which would cause the elm to not screw down flush.

Switch gap is less than 1/16" and silly smooth. Fires every time.

The mouse and others are wise. You should not have any battery rattle.

Yeah the throw on mine is super short also, it has to be that the contact in the switch isn't all the way tight. Take out the switch compress it and tighten it all the way down then thread it back in snug. No threads should be showing.

I have an issue with my lock switch sticking in the fire position, haven't put vice grips to it yet but going to have to free it up somehow.

Yep, my screw up.  I threw the cap away thinking it was a thread protector.  Got it fixed now and it works great, thanks!

Yeah I was being a dumb ass and never looked for any directions (1st bottom switch). I must have had the lock ring just a little loose or something. Oh well, I ended up with a pair of magnets out of the deal and it is tight now
