Ok, so my daughter watches My Little Pony. I'm cool with it, watch it with her to see whats up, so we've set the daddy-daughter cartoon watching precedent. The other day she starts telling me she's watching Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. I'm thinking, ok, yeah that show was kinda stupid. I told her that I read the comics back in the day. So then she comes and finds me when it was on to watch with her...holy crap, theres a new version on nickelodeon and its pretty damn good! Been out 3 years I never knew. I did have to divulge that somewhere theres a box with a set of sai and nunchucks in it.

We believe you that you watch cartoons because of your daughter.

I watched the original cartoons and live action movies as a kid; I really disliked the new movies.  Went back and rewatched the original and realized that it was also quite stupid lol.  I must have just been a stupid kid

I don't doubt what youre saying about the new show though.   There have been a number of good cartoons in recent years.  Ive been in the room while kids are watching them, and they got me to laugh a few times.

Ninja Turtles were cool back then too bro.

I thought the comic TMNT was good, but the '80s cartoon was lame.

I was soooo into TMNT back in oh, about 5th-7th grade.  I guess that was around 1990-1992 ish.  I had a TON of the toys, action figures, vehicles...they were really my bag.  Drew them on every surface I could get write on.  I wish I had saved those things...oh well.  Substitute TMNT for firearms now, and it's the same obsession.  Firearms just cost a lot more.

The new cartoon is pretty good. One thing that sets it apart from the older media versions is that they incorporate actual Ninjutsu into the action and dialogue. They hired a few guys from Hatsumi's lineage to be tech advisors

You should watch cartoons with your kids, so you'll know what they're watching.

There is a movie floating out there that combines both the old TMNT and the new TMNT into one awesome show, a multiverse thing. Go find it out on Youtube, its pretty awesome, and Uncle Phil from Fresh Prince even reprises his role as the voice of Shredder, too.
