My computer is running the slowest ever, I ran the usual Antivirus programs and still running very slow, from booting up to turning it off, is very slow. I checked the System Configuration Startup tab and I only see 8 items with the check mark, BUT the "Services" tab is loaded with programs, a lot of them say "running" on the third column. What is this Service thing? Do I need to have all these programs running? I have the feeling my windows system is all screwed up. If I have to back up my hard drive, how do I do that? Some of the files I have are huge. Do you recommend taking the computer to a place like Best Buys that have computer service/repair department? |

If you dont care what is on your PC and would let anyone and their neighbor take whatever info is on there, then yes- take it in to someone to look at. If you think there just MIGHT be something on there that could ruin your credit report if someone got ahold of, bank info, your ISP, tax info... then dont risk it... use autoruns for getting programs to stop running on startup (like the fricken adobe reader updater) |
Holy smokes, I am running 5 screens worth of stuff. How do I figure out what to delete? Or what I should keep? |
