One also the things i had i remember when i was young. At around 7 i took speech therapy classes, and it was cured in around 4-5 months. And now thanks to that shitty phy 232 class that stutter came back due to stress. And not going away
and now i cant even keep up a conversation going. I know what to say, its in my brain but i cant say it. How the am i going to find a better job? Thankfully i am a janitor at the UK hospital which barely requires any talking but the jobs i am looking at will require lots of socialization its like ive been given all the shitty genes...poor eyevision due to playing a shitton of wow/cod..glasses are like telescopes really not gaining any body mass and even my mom says i eat like a hog. i have an insane metabolism i partially lost hearing in one of my eardrums due to not wearing any protection when i was at the range...so now i got to ask people like ol' folks. "can you repeat that again please"? I can always play the foreigner card thankfully due to the accent by saying that i didnt understand...its not that i didnt understand, i cant hear in my right ear very well i swear i think i was malnourished or something when i was young and underdeveloped or something..even from going to the gym im just all frail and small . i think im dumb too...financially. street-wise and book-wise. What took these american kids in my physics class to do 20-30minutes took me 1 to 2 hours. AND i stutter now to top all that off...uhh...i really need to work on myself. But i cant go to the gym now i am exhausted after work and got a bunch of assignments piling up too. i heard arfcom had some really good physicians and therapists so i am requesting some help on the behalf of arfcom |

I took speech therapy classes for a few years, not for a stutter however. Regardless, it really screws up my accent and confuses people as to where I am from. When I am really tired I will have to watch pronunciation more. My speech is excellent however despite that.
My concern here is that your stutter was so minor it only took a couple of months to eliminate and now it is back after all these years. I would say it likely is stress. However maybe you should check and make sure there isn't a medical reason for this. |

You're a piece of work, man.
If you want to get better at anything, you need to practice. Pick a politician or cause that you like and volunteer for a call center. Practice talking to people on the phone. Have a written script. Work with the other people at the organization to improve. You will get better. Plus, it'll put you in contact with people for more job opportunities. |

I fail to see the correlation of those issues to your genes... For everything else, get into the special needs program at your school. Nothing to be ashamed of, some people just learn differently. That will get you better tutoring if you need it, and longer test times, and it won't affect your transcript. As for the stutter, my brain tends to outrun my mouth whenever I'm tired and stressed, so I can somewhat relate. |

Wow, I responded in seriousness but there must be something more going on here based on some of the responses... WowPro has history..... Great now I let all of ARFcom know about my personal struggle for nothing... Now I am going to cry softly to myself...and I am going to do it while having a hard time pronouncing the letter "S"! |

I've got a Brazilian friend who can't pronounce "th" sounds like in "southern", it comes out "souvern" This that these and those come out just fine. |

I believe they have apps for cellphones that help stuttering.

SpeechJammer If you wear earphones and turn them up, you'll sound like a 'tard trying to form a sentence unless you talk super slow.

Quoted: whats your iLevel? 696 and my stutter messes with people in vent! Seriously I don't think a stutter every truly goes away. You can learn to limit it and "trick" your brain into being more fluent but I've stuttered all my life. Everyone lapses back when stressed and stuff. Sam Jackson stutters and there are clips of him lapsing back. |

A good friend of mine has a stutter. Great guy, really smart and extroverted. He never let it hold him back.
Now for a funny story. One day him, I, and another mutual friend were hanging out and one of his daughters wouldn't do as she was told. He started getting pissed off, tells her what to do again, and asks her "do I stutter?" I lost it right there.

OP you might not be the most socially aware, intellectually gifted, or romantically talented person in the world, but you are my favorite person on arfcom; please don’t ever leave this place. Just imagine if he posted in a hammermill thread...I'm not sure if that would be like dividing by zero, or dividing by infinity... |

I want to hear it. Click here, and share with the class: http://vocaroo.com/

Quoted: like the south park 'tard kid ![]() WoWPro, I have had a stutter since I was 6yo. 50 years now. Some days are better than others but the stutter is always waiting to trip me up on certian words. Speech therapy helped a little bit when I was younger, now I have just learned to live with it. I'm led to believe you are a young adult ,maybe speech therapy might work for you.. Edited...VA-gunnut |

That's the site my little brother uses to record himself reciting lines from movies we grew up watching. He sends them to me in texts. Anyway, figures you'd be the only other person I've seen who knows that site.
