Which is more stupid? (Stupider)
An Electric adjustable wrench?  Or Electric Scissors?  How many of you guys got these for Christmas? my family knows better than to buy me Black and Decker (Edit: I wasn't clear, I did not get these for christmas,) If you know of a more stupid tool, say it or post a pic. |

I actually didn't get them, my sister got them for my father. I am a starch opposer to anything black and decker.

I don't buy anything but Mac and Snap-on, but I don't bitch when family members do something nice for me.
ETA: That wrench would get you laughed out of a high school auto shop, much less a real shop. |

One of the Tool & Die engineers received one this holiday. (power adjustable wrench)
Its great for getting in tight places and then colapsing on the bolt head... It works. BTW that guy will work until he dies, and will never be obease. |

I love tools too, but Black and Decker is the Lorcin of power tools! (In my expierence) Even if Dewalt made electric adjustable wrenches I would still have no use for them. |

I'll never give up my Diamond Diamalloy adjustable wrenches-made in Duluth,Minnesota ! I could just imagine the snickering if I pulled out one of these electric ones in front of the other Tradesmen at work

Actually the wrench is very useful, My grandfather has rhumatoid arthritis so turning the wheel on the wrench can sometimes be painful for him so I got him that. He thinks its the greatest thing since sliced bread.

I got one of these from my in-laws. It's kind of neat, but I already have two chainsaws and a hedge trimmer, so I really have no use for it. They gave me a gift receipt with it so I took it back today. Now I have $104 in store credit

Electric scissors are the shizzle for people who actually sew. My mom used to do it a lot. She had a small pair of GE electric shears from the late '50s that were great for cutting cloth, even several layers at once, and it would be hard to injure yourself with it. Much faster than manual shears.

IMHO anything from B&D is a stupid waste of time and money. I bought a drill, took it home and the bearings were bad, two exchanges later (both for bad bearings) I opted for a refund.

I am not saying that these things are useless, I am jsut saying that in your typical garage your tools are a large part of your reputation. In reality a good tech with Craftsman tools will get the job done much better and faster than an idiot with the biggest box Snap-on makes filled with every possible tool.
All the same that wrench would bring large amounts of ridicule and derision in most shops. |
