Ok If I buy a certain stock, 3-4 times at different prices, how do I figure an average price for what I have purchased? This seems like it should be easy, but the more I think about it, the more complex it seems. anyone have a formula? Maybe it's because its 1530 here and I just got up. I might be kinda groggy.

Sum the prices paid, divide by number of stocks.

Add the prices up. Then divide by 3 or 4.

Ex: Stock #1 = $15.35, Stock #2 = $13.45, Stock #3 = $14.67 Total Price = $43.47

$43.47 divided by 3 = Average Price of $14.49

Thanks, but I did not explain myself good enough. I purchased the saem stock at various prices, but also varied amounts of the stock each purchase. The formula in the first reply will work good. I was just over thinking it.
