Anyone actually ever try it? I've been lifting for 20 years and have never done so. I've heard about it, that's all. Something about using ungodly weights at the strongest point of lift (like almost extended for a bench press for example) and holding it for 5-10 seconds. Supposed to be really intense and you can only do it every week or two.

Questions for those in the know:

1) Does it actually help increase strength in full-range exercises, i.e. will SCT in the extended position help a full bench press over time?

2) Can you still do regular workouts in between SCT sessions?

I don't imagine it has an impact on muscle so much as CNS stimulation.  I'm sure there's some credence to it (20-rep squat routine, several minutes under tension), but I'm not familiar with it as a training tool.
