Was checking my stock and thought I'd take a few pictures.

ETA: Ode to Elderboy02 - you have an excellent eye my friend.

Nice!

Just a FYI, those sticks on the left aren't decades.  It looks like they might be vintage 92's.  Decades have a tan band on them.

Let me check - I bought them from Rocky himself - but in fairness, I was drinking. :)

ETA: yup - Vintage 1992.  A very nice smoke.  Not an every day smoke for my palate, but very good with 4 fingers of Blanton's.

your free loader sticks are much nicer than my free loader sticks.  Then again I'm pretty cheap.  And those perdomo frescos are pretty nice to begin with.

Nice! And welcome to the humidor.

Few thoughts:

1. Those floral foam humidifiers are absolute crap.  Consider getting some Heartfelt beads or similar.

2. Do you have a hydrometer?  If not, you need to be able to tell what RH your humi is.

Yes, the heartfelt beads are a great item, I have the 65% ones in my cooler and they work just fine, don't have a hydrometer but the cigars are slightly moist and tasty.

Yup - I have a Caliber Hygrometer.  I'm not thrilled with the foam thingies.  I am able to keep the Humidor at 70% - which seems to be a good number for me.

I'll check out the beads.  (Do you have a favorite vendor?)
I've used the crystal gel from Cigars International before, but went back to distilled water to free up room in the humi for more sticks.

Thanks for the feedback.  Guns and 'gars.  Love that combo.

I simply buy them straight from the vendor.  His prices are reasonable and he ships fast.  I'd recommend 1/2 pound of 65% beads for your humi, a pound would be overkill.  Either get them in one of the tubes they sell or a sock, the dishes don't work that great longterm.

I too started using the floral foam (which dripped once, ruining about $300 worth of cigars), the gel packs (which fluctuated wildly) and finally settled on beads which seem to work.

Consider going with the 65% mark.  70 is just a touch too wet to get a good draw on all of your cigars.

Thanks Slavac
Opted for the Medium tube (6 1/2"x 3/4")  Are there any precautions I should take to prevent the tube from touching my cigars?
My new years resolution - 65%

I just make sure there is no water on the outside of the tube...if need be I put sticks with the cellophane directly against the tubes.

You are so right.
I have a few.  The Lot 23, Habanos Corojo and Patriarch Toro.  Not trilled with the Frescos - save those for those who won't know the difference.

One more tip with keeping RH constant is to have more cigars in the humidor. 50% full is a minimum 75% is better.
