I am starting a part time job at a feed store tomorrow. I am kinda nervous since it has been almost a year since I have worked a "real" job. Hubby has sharpened a pocket knife for me so be on the lookout for the I just cut my finger off what do I need to do thread!

Anyone here work in a similar job that could give me some intell on what it is like? Wish me luck that I like it and come home with all fingers firmly attached and no blood loss!

I helped.out at my great great uncle's  feed store when I was a kid.

I moved heavy things. Sometimes I mixed things. It also turns out there's a certain way to mix big piles of seed with a shovel. I don't remember what that way was because I never did it correctly anyway.

Hope you don't get trampled your first week of the job during the Black Friday feed store sale.

Is it strictly a feed store or a Southern States or a Co-Op?

It is a small local feed store. They carry about the same things as the county Co-Op just smaller scale.

If you have to help load feed and hay, use your legs and not your back

Good luck on the new job.

Any job that enables you to use a knife everyday is a good one.

Maybe not when you are a walking accident waiting to happen! My Dad swore that he could put me in a padded room, surround me with pillows, give me a marshmallow, and I would come out bleeding.

I am excited about it. I like that not everyday will be the same.

I am pretty easy going and farmers here are usually very laid back people.

Just think of the fun of giving her a bewbie massages. I used bag balm on my hands a long time ago when I worked in the dairy/frozen section of a grocery store.

I worked at Tractor Supply Co in Burlington, NC all through high school... AKA: John Deere and Carhartt Clotjing store with some feed and implement parts in the back somewhere.

Was a pretty awesome way to meet all the local farm girls and milfs. Pulled quite a few numbers out of there.

I hope you realize t-posts come in different weights, and don't get any creosote on you.  Ever drop a salt block on your toe?  I could go on...

Read about 10 posts up and that will answer your question. I thought T-posts just came in different lengths.

I worked the warehouse of a small feed store when I was 17.

Lots of unloading trailers full of 50lb bags of shit and hay

Only bad day was one Saturday morning the guy brought a trailer load of deer corn, and he forgot to chock the wheels. I found out when I was wheeling 400lbs of corn onto the dock, and the trailer started rolling away. I dropped the hand truck and it swung down and the handle nailed me right in the foot. Left a nice mark

That and I filled orders. Someone wants 3 bags of sweet 14, I put 3 bags in the bed of their truck.
