I learned Spanish in PR so I speak pure Castillian approved by the Real Academia

I was thinking more "son of a bitch" vs "son of a gun," to use two well-established American english expressions.

I've heard both.  A seems worse.  I've never been very familiar with slang in any Spanish dialect, though.  Most of my family in Mexico does not really talk that way.  If I had picked up slang words or cuss words in Spanish and my grandmother had heard me speak them, I would have gotten smacked for bad language.  I never heard her use any sort of slang word and only once heard her use a cuss word.  Since my family is mostly how I learned Spanish, I never picked up slang or cuss words.  Sometimes I'm confounded when speaking to Mexicans here who seem to cuss or speak in slang every other word in their sentences.  We might as well be speaking different languages.

chingada is worse than fregada. Most people that say fregada say it because they don't want to cuss. Kind of like saying dagnabit instead of goddamit.

Chinga is the best slang word ever.  It is a noun, verb, modifier, superlative....

Examples:

Noun:  Porque compras esta chingadera?

Verb:  Quero chingar la puta con la minifalda.

Modifier:  Estoy tarde, voy a la chinga!

Superlative:  Mi cuarenta cinco es el cuete mas chingon.

Los mejicanos no hablan español, hablan mejicano

Here in Vegas, I can't understand half the things the mexicans say to me in "spanish" and they sure as hell can't tell what I'm saying when I use non-neutral PR words

I always thought son of a whore/ son of the whore. Guess I was wrong.

I put it in google translate once and got "son of the chingada one" as a result.

PR Spanish is all levels of fucked up. Cuban Spanish is better.... but we can all agree. Argies think they're European when they aren't, Dominicans have sexy ladies, and Spain itself is still backwards.

Coño Carajo just sounds better sometimes. Certain things in Cuban Spanish are just better expressed than in English.
