Running a test tonight. I was gifted a Boveda humidor for Christmas. Seasoned it as instructed, then filled it with cigars. After a couple of months, I noticed that every cigar I grabbed out of it tasted like nothing. Like zero flavores, nothing all. RH was staying steady at 66-67. The cigars smoked fine physically, just had zero taste. I tried several of each type of cigar I had in there to make sure it wasn’t just the cigars. No taste. Cigars I had in tuppadores that came from the same boxes as cigars I had in the Boveda Tasted fine. I ended up taking all of the cigars out of the humidor and put them in their own separate tuppadore. That was a couple months back. This is the first one of the “rescues” I’ve tried and it shockingly has some flavor. Not normal amounts, but much more than these had when I was storing them in the humidor. Weird. Attached File |

I have about 2-3 left. They have a couple years of rest on them, and it's done them really well. I love both Alma Furete versions, with a slight preference to the Colorado, which is the green band. If you can find the Salomon size of that one, definitely stock up. They're outstanding. |

Finally bought one of these to try, since it's the current hotness. I'm glad I was patient. If I'd have judged it on the first 3rd, I would have ditched it. It's very front loaded, and very spicy. Nicaraguan, My Father. After the first third, it's settled in and I enjoyed it enough to finish. Still wouldn't buy anymore. It's not for me. Attached File |
