-roast peppers
-boil
-drain
-puree
-sear meat in pot
-add pepper puree to pot
-add water
simmer


That's the basics of chili. From there you can add cinammon, chocolate, tomatoes, beans, garlic, onion, and a hundred other things, to suit yourself.

My lazy recipe:



Couple pounds of stew meat

Canned chipotle peppers in Adobo (this is pretty hot to most people so I'll use half crushed tomatoes if others are eating it)

minced garlic & chopped onion, cumin, black pepper & salt



in a crock pot on low for a couple hours
