This might be a totally stupid question but here goes:

I set up a wireless router to share my cable connection with a notebook computer. The router allows wireless connections within 150 feet of the router.

Since setting it up it has been wreaking havoc with my wireless mouse/trackball. The router is sitting on my desk about 3 feet from the trackball. I'm kinda hooked on the wireless trackball and would like to keep it but the shotty performance is driving me nuts.

Is there something that I can put between the router and the trackball that would in effect shield them from the radio signal interference?

Distance is the easiest way.  Is there any way you could move the router farther away?z

If you casn't move the router you could always switch to a Bluetooth mouse; it won't have frequency issues with the wireless network.

Distance might be the answer although I'm not sure how easy its going to be and how far I'll get away from my desk.

Bluetooth won't work for me as I'm one of those red headed step children that's hooked on Apple computers.

Any other thoughts?
(besides dumping my Mac in the garbage)

DavidC, You wouldn't happen to work for ZDNet?
I did a quick google search on Bluetooth and found an interesting article on the technology written by a David Coursey (DavidC), Executive Editor ZDNet.

What Mac and what version of MacOS?  OS 10.2.x is compatible with Bluetooth.

Its a G3 that's running OS9.2

I tried upgrading to OSX but I have 2 extra internal drives that don't use Apple drivers and when I tried to upgrade I had lots of compatibility issues. Its possible that those manufacturers have updated thier drivers but I'm due for a new computer so I'd rather not go through the hassle of updating to OSX right now.
The new computer will be running OSX.2 just like my laptop.

Good luck with the new computer.  I never ran OS9 or before (started with 10.0.x), so I can't comment on that, but I haven't been disappointed with OSX and it's worked for me over the last year and some (Powerbook G4).

No. But I know Dave Coursey.

My last name is Chernicoff. Feel free to do a search on that name on ZDNet or at http://www.winnetmag.com  You'll find some Bluetooth stuff I wrote at the latter site.
