Watching the Colorado hearings on their state's gun bans... and noticed that some of the Sheriffs have 1 star, some 2 stars, some 3 stars and some 4 stars. I know my county sheriff in Texas has 4 stars, but our chief of police wears 3 stars. Do the different stars mean anything? |

I think that it's the Sheriff's ego, and what his state allows.
In OHIO, all Sheriff's wear one star. In Cincinnati, all police chief's are full bird colonel's as in most Ohio city's. But Cincinnati just got a new police chief and he decided that he wanted to be a four star general, and his assistants are two star generals. |
