This is what Mark/Joker 1 would have done, so we are gonna try. We need your help for Abby. Please hit the GoFundMe and give us the ability to get her vet care. This sweet Momma dog was found on a rural road in Georgia--a road known for animal dumping.   The sad look in her eyes is there for a reason. Here is her story: Jordan's neighbor found her and brought her to us. She is underweight, underfed, and--- heavy with milk--- so we feared the pups were young. They searched for hours, but found no sign of her babies.  So we believe the babies were taken from her and she was dumped alone.God made mommas to love their babies, and she has lost hers.   At the vet, there was some good news, and some sad. The sad news: Abby had her babies less than 2 days before she was dumped. She has had at least three litters in her short lifetime. And she is heartworm positive.  That's the estimate for the treatment.  She had her first shot Saturday. Now we've gotta pay for it. After learning the babies were so recent, Jordan and her neighbor went back to search again for the pups. Found nothing. The vet thinks she is a Lab-Hound mix, maybe with a bit of Mountain Cur. She is sweet, loving, great with other dogs, good with cats and wonderful with kids. And deeply sad. The good news? Time and love will heal her heart, and she will be an amazing Semper Fi dog! Her prognosis, with treatment, is excellent. Will you help us treat her, watch her heal, and help her become another Semper Fi Dog Rescue success story? As soon as our paperwork comes back from the state, we will move to GiveSendGo and get out of GoFundMe. But until then, that's what we have. I hit the donation link for a second time for Abbey. May go in for a third to complete the hat trick. As stated, I know times are tough for some these days but the minimum threshold is $5.00. Sure more is better but many small donations add up. The work being done by Jordan and SFDR is important. Will it cure the world’s ills? Probably not. Will it make the world a slightly better place for me and my children. ABSOLUTELY. Change is incremental. Please consider lending a small but necessary hand. Donated and will donate more at the 1st of the month Godspeed Dagwood @DoverGunner If you're asking specifically for Abby....a quick look...it looks like we probably have her heartworm treatment covered unless she has complications. She will need spayed, shots, food, etc. And we will be providing all that. So the most immediate need for her vet bill was my reason for reaching out, but it would be awesome if she could be set for her complete care until she is all healed and ready for her forever home. I don't know what the spay will cost. I will ask Jordan if she sees more need in the immediate future. Thank you so much! |
