Secret Service confined the embedded protective press pool when hillary was going down at the 911 memorial. They were held for 90 minutes and not allowed to leave as per Fox news. Asked if they could have went out alone and take their own mode (taxi, bus, whatever) she said no (jennifer griffin) How the fuck can the press pool be held against their will like that? |

I'd like to see some confirmation it was USSS (the government) confining Griffin (the press). It would be a pure violation of the 1st amendment protections. |

Part of their job is also protecting the dignity of the person under their watch. While FHRC, but I respect the hard work these men and women do every day. While true, this does not give them the power to unreasonably detain people. A lot of what they do is verbal judo. For example: "Sir, you need to come back inside. NOW!" --- It's just a suggestion, but spoken in command voice 'seems' like a demand. "I'm sorry but you need to remain in this area until I say otherwise. END OF STORY." --- You 'need' to, but they can't do shit if you don't. |

I'm betting the answer is "Nothing". |

You may leave, or you may stay here but you at not go there is a hell of a lot more constitutional than "you must stay here even though you have committed no crime and you have the right to travel unhampered." The SS got this one wrong, and FHRC. Her dignity, not that she has any, does not trump the right to not be detained without just cause. |

I'm guessing if you say "Get the Fuck out of my way my granny is dying I have to leave!" you'd get kicked out of the press pool and fuck up your career if they did decide to let you go v illegally sitting on you. I suppose if push came to shove they would make up some BS about having to detain people for hillary's safety and would arrest you for obstruction or some bs that would later get dropped edit and then when the video came out and it was revealed that someone sat on you so kankles could be dragged unconscious into the granny van whoever sat on you would get transferred to hunting for counter fitters in detroit or gnome |

Their focus is on maintaining safety of the protected person as well as maintaining their dignity. Again, FHRC, but if this same situation would have involved Trump, it would have been handled the same way. |

Really? Really? Of course it does but, at this point, what difference does it really matter? There is no longer Constiution. There are no longer checks-and-balances. There are no longer restrictions on the government. There is no longer a Republic. |

How the fuck can the press pool be held against their will like that? There is precedent. In June 2008, candidate Obama's people held his press detail aboard the campaign aircraft and flew them to Chicago while Obama remained behind at Dulles and sneaked off to the Bilderberg meeting in nearby Chantilly, VA. |

I never really thought about it but protection details would get tedious after awhile. Ride around in cars, stand around in hallways, I would think after a few years it would get old but it's probably a prime detail for them. Quoted:

The PPD(Presidential Protective Division) is THE ELITE in the USSS, and very few members of the SS reach the ranks of PPD. ETA: partially quoting Former USSS Agent Dan Bongino. Reading his book presently |
