Print Screen button top right corner of your keyboard. Open MS Paint or another photo program. Paste and there you go. Crop it and size it to whatever you want.

ETA: how come on sometimes on paused video, the screen cap is black where the vid would be?
Is there a way to solve that?

Just hit "print screen" then open MS paint, click "edit" "paste," then save the image as a JPEG.

Hit the print screen key on your keyboard (windows user I presume).

Open Paint or some other photo editing software. Create a new image and then Ctrl-V (paste). It will paste a snapshot of the video memory that was created when you hit print screen.

ETA: Damn that was some fast submit-fu there boys.

It's a "feature" designed to prevent you from taking screen-shots of copyrighted movies. There are ways around it.
