When I re-installed Windows on my laptop, I set up the screen brightness to be dimmed when on battery power.

How can I change this?

Probably under power settings.

I thought that too, but no dice.

Here is what comes up:

It probably has some settings in the BIOS, which Windows may or may not honor.

Does the system have software from OEM to set the dim times?

I'm not sure if it has OEM software, I'm pretty sure I set it up while installing Windows.

could be bios
should be a key combo to increase it though while using it
usually Fn (down in the lower corner) and one of the regular F keys like F9 or F10

None of the keys worked.

ETA: Disregard, the FN key plus the UP key did it.

I never really noticed the seperate writing on the keys until you mentioned it.

Thanks for the help.

Same place you find the screensaver settings.

Rt click on a blank area of you desktop -> properties

or...

Looks for special keys on your laptop to dim or brighten the display.

on a Dell laptop it's the blue fn key + up arrow or down arrow.
