I have a problem. Why does my pics that I scan always blow themselves up so huge! When I take the pic with the digital cam it will be like 165kb and I can transfer it to my hd and it is still fine. But if I scan pics they almost always turn out so huge as in like 4 or 5mb's. Does anyone know why this is? How do I fix this. I tried to import them to like Adobe Photoshop so I could reduce the size but when I import them to there they are like 22.8 mb's.

... Resize your image. Constrain proportions, 72dpi if fine if trying to post on the Net.
Toggle over from pixles to inches to better visualize the size you want.

Ok, I reduced the pixels down to 72 and now the pic is about 1.3mb's but now it has lots of little lines going through it. Is this just because of the low resolution setting.

next, you need to set the proper compression on the .jpgs somewhere in yor graphics program is that setting.

or, you might not be saving ast jpg's at all, if its saving as a bmp, it will be big.

Try the size of the image. You might be at a really high resolution. Did you try 640x480?
