Hey guys. I've been having an issue with my note 4 for the last few days. The screen will randomly flicker. If I am in the middle of an email it will save it as a draft. Kinda like the program was interrupted and had to restart. Its done it while syrfing the net and it will reset the page. The phone seems to be laggy as well at times. It will flicker at random in any program.

Battery is charged and tight. I did remove it and restarted the phone. Still does it.

Internet search talks about people dropping their phones recently. This is not the case.

Ideas?

Both a buddy of mine and I have Note 4s.  Mine has been running fine since I got it.  His, on the other hand, started acting laggy, would reset at random, and other weird behavior.  It eventually died and became a brick, probably 3 months after the bad behavior started.  He thinks the cause was the latest android update, pushed out by Sprint a few months ago.

The only issue I've had with mine (on Verizon), is that on two separate occasions I've had issues with the SD card.  It starts by randomly showing the SD card icon and the SD card message "Use your SD card to save pictures, etc", and then the phone starts to get a little laggy.  It usually continues to worsen, and then I format the SD card, and that seems to correct it.  Of course, make sure you save all your data first before reformatting.  And I format using my computer, not the phone, and I do a full format, not a quick format.  Last time I did it it took about an hour for a 64GB card.

Hope this helps.

OK. I don't have  access to a SD card reader to do a full re format. I did make sure and check that it was tight and not loose. In case it was not making a good connection.

Seems like its been doing it since we have been out here in WA. The cell service is really poor and we are mostly on wifi. I don't recall it doing this back in MT with good cell service.

ATT had to replace 3 of mine in a year because it was a huge piece of shit. I finally got them to give me an iPhone.

I should mention its a verizon phone. Been one of the best phones I have ever had. Only a few minor issues over the years I've had it.

Had a similar problem OP described, as well as a ton of camera problems (flash would kill the phone, Id have to remove battery to restart). Replaced the battery, been fine ever since.

My Sprint Note 4 has had similar problems as your buddy in the same timeframe. It's still hanging in there but I'll be dumping Sprint next month when my contract ends.

I bought my Galaxy Note 4 in January 2015.

In May/June 2016, it started acting real buggy....like it wouldn't hold a charge.

Yesterday was the last straw when my alarm didn't go off and I was late for work.  Then later at work, yesterday, it died once again and while plugged into the charger it got caught in this reboot loop over, and over, and over again.

So I bought a new Galaxy S7 last night.

I have to wonder if it was just the battery???

Or spyware/malware/virus?

Or some update AT&T pushed to the phone?

Or...orrrr!!!  If this crazy chic I was dating back in May/June put something malicious on my phone?

EDIT:  or some planned obsolesence thing since most cell phone contracts are 2 years long?

Most of my issues were fixed with the Anker replacement battery I got from amazon.

Other issue was breaking the camera glass ,even with a nicer case on it, it still got damaged.
