I just returned to swtor after an extended absence due to the disappointing launch and first few months. Suffice to say, the game is quite good now. Easily the best mmo to kill time on imo. If anyone wants to get together and form an ARFKorp guild, pm Saeva on POT5. Cheers, Jon |

I am a huge Star Wars fan and I absolutely despise SWTOR. I played all through beta and into launch. It was okay when the servers were flooded, but now I think it is just a shell of what it really wanted to be. ^^^ I didn't think it was OK when the servers were flooded. Other then that, I could have written your post. Arrogant pustules that the devs are they didn't listen to their beta testers. SWTOR went F2P in less than a year (which I predicted) and I'll be extremely surprised* if the incompetent, arrogant, ignorant suits at EA can turn it around. My prediction is that the servers will be shut down prior to their 4th anniversary. *I am quite literate and have an excellent command of the English language. If EA manages to turn SWTOR around I will be at a complete loss for words. IOW "extremely surprised" doesn't even begin to cover it. |

Quoted: what has gotten good about it? i basically hated that it was very single-playerish with lots of running between missions.. Well, there's *tons* of stuff to do now. There's a new planet with a medium-length story mission and a whole series of daily missions. Also every class caps at level 55 and has one new "top tier" ability, and class balance is less of an issue than it's ever been imo. There's more armor and weapon skins than you can imagine, as well as a whole lot of new flashpoints and operations (though I don't PvE much).. By far the most exciting thing for me is that the next major update is completely pvp-oriented. They're adding arenas, new maps (they teased a new Huttball map in the trailer ![]() ), competitive team death-matches, all sorts of shit. Hell, it's free to try.. if you haven't played in a while, give it a look, you might dig it.ETA: They are also implementing a system where pick up groups are guaranteed a certain spec makeup (ie the same number of dps, tanks, heals), though premades can roll however they want afaik. pm Princely on pot5 (Republic) if you want to hook up. Cheers. |

I enjoyed STO, but leveled way too fast. I want to ahve to work to lev up. That's what I loved about SWG, leveling took some time. When you max out in less then a month of casual playing..... Quoted:

I used macros and leveled my characters in SWG while I slept. |

My Jedi sentinel is stuck on a class mission that it's two levels above. I have to beat 3 uber-Sith on Tattooine and I've called bullshit on it.
Well why did you think that doing a mission that was designed for a player 2 levels above you would be a good idea? And you do realize that you could partner up with people of different classes than yours to help you complete the mission, right? |

Well then you flat out suck. I was in the same position and I breezed through them. It's not like they all attack you at once, you can engage each one at your own leisure. |

I just don't have the time or patience to get the magical right skill combination and equipment build to "breeze" through it. It's really just a WoW clone with a lot of cutscenes so it didn't hold my attention. Character sustomization is largely illusionary when you have to 'get it right' to progress anyways; it makes the game extremely two-dimensional. Too many other decent games out there. |

Nope, just stating what seems to be the case. And like I said earlier, forming a group to get through it is pretty easy. I don;t think you would have played to that point if you didn't have a significant interest in the game. |

There are various checks in the leveling process that you may or may not notice depending on whether you pass.
Some are gear checks, most are "do you know you have this ability?" checks. I believe Tatooine is more or less where the "do you know how to interrupt?" check is for many classes. I know it's annoying to run into a check and not know how to pass it but honestly there should be a lot more of them in the game, too many people arrive at endgame unprepared. The state of the game is significantly improved from a year ago, a lot of people gave up on SWTOR before it hit its stride, I spent a year away and it's a much better game now. Shame they didn't do a better job of refining the game before launch, but the servers are very healthy right now and content is rolling out at a rapid pace. |

I have to beat 3 uber-Sith on Tattooine and I've called bullshit on it.
