We are the second largest agency in the county. The City is the largest with over 900. Then us, then some suburban agencies with 30-60 officers, then the small cities and villages with 10-20 officers. We are a pretty big county with over somewhere between 800k and 900k residents. |

If you are carrying under your ccw then you won't be acting under agency authority.. So if you do good then you are a hero and if it goes sideways the agency will say you used an unauthorized weapon, you're on your own. |

But if you're involved in an off duty OIS and things don't go right they may withhold indemnification and or bring you up on departmental charges for the rule violation subjection you to personal liability. My local LEA has an authorized list of off duties in its Ops guide. That’s BS. An off duty cop shouldn’t ever have ANY additional indemnification that a private citizen doesn’t anyways. Likewise, the department should not be held liable for actions of officers outside the line of duty. How else are they going to shoot to slide lock and get away with it? I actually support police, but the whole “let’s empty our pistols every time is kind of ridiculous. If its a good shoot i dont have a problem with it. Pistols arent good at stopping people. If lethal force is called for then shoot till they dont twitch. |

Quoted: So, let's consider a VP9, PDP, Echelon, or Glock compared to the P320. What does the P320 do better than any of those (besides maybe more "aftermarket customization")? I imagine that the P320 shoots well enough, but it just seems heavy compared to a lot of otherwise comparable products at that price point. It shoots itself.
