Ok so I have my galaxy s3 rooted, today I tried installing the cyanogenMod 10.1 and it got stuck at the bootanimation screen.

I have done everything I can think of and searched google. I'm stuck.

I can get into bootloader or recovery. I cannot mount my phone to be read via usb. I cannot push anything to the phone using abd commands. Anyone have some tricks up their sleeves?

I posted this in the Android help thread but I need help asap.

Thanks

Put a good ROM on an SD card, check msd, insert, flash that.

Pull the battery out and put it back in then hit, volume up, home and power at the same time.

What does it do?

Read the guides 10 times before rooting and flashing, I still fail sometimes but it's hard to permanently eff them up

Did you make a backup?

Of not then put a rom on the SD card and flash. You are far from bricked if you still can access hboot and recovery. How comfortable are you with Adb?

Sounds about right to me. And try everything again. I've had them not take the first time and still couldn't tell you what went wrong. You still got bootloader and recovery so your not up the creek but I'd have to say this might be a question for the xda-developers forum. I love cyanogen and am on my 3rd phone with it.

With the S3 the ROM has to be on the internal memory, not the SD card. If I remember correctly.

I have put two different roms on SD card, I thought I had a recovery but it said no file found so IDK. I have messed a bit using adb. But when I push file to the phone is hangs up, just sits there. I left for a half hour and was still where I left it and the file never made it to the card.

What recovery? I'd put non-touch CWR on there if you can't mount.

Did you try pushing via adb at hboot?

Hop on IRC chat.

Do you have to goldcard with the s3s? Could be why its not mounting. This is a little out of my realm as I've always had htcs.

Use ODIN, Google it if you don't know what it is.

Yeah, that is what you need to do. Also, check out the XDA Developers website. Tons of good info there.

Samsung Galaxy S3 Unified Toolkit

There's where you need to start.

ETA:  You borked it by either installing the wrong kernal or ROM for the phone you have.

I've got both the HTC One X and One X+ unlocked/rooted with custom ROMs.

Its the only place to go in my book. The thing is current information is fragmented for lots of phone and it takes quite a bit of reading to put it all together.

Finally got it, I have been all over the xda sites androidforums.

Thanks everyone!

If you have a USB card reader you might be able drop a rom on that way. It was required the first time I flashed cm7.

Excellent. Keep those files on your computer. You never know when a card goes bad and they could come in handy.
