Per my request, they will be purchasing the Garand back from me so I can replace it. Big thumbs-up from me. They handled this quickly and professionaly.
They also offered to remove the camo from the Glock, but it does look pretty cool, so I may want to keep it that way. I'm going to add a poll to this to see what the rest of you think.
And regardless of how ugly it looks, the finish work on the Garand is excellent. They did up the whole operating rod, bolt, inside of the stock, etc. With the very nice work and they way they handled FMJunkie's and my situation, I'd recommend them.

And for those that missed it the first time around, the Serbu .50 looks killer!

So what's the deal? Did you just not like the way the Garand turned out?

Damn, I kinda want to send my post ban in for a new paint job. I kinda wears on ya after you see them for a while.

Glad to hear everything has worked out for you. Hope I never have a shock like that! And if I do I hope to get it resolved as quickly as you did!

Why buy the cow when the neighbor's cat is in heat?

Yeah, I've always liked the idea of camoed tactical weapons. Depending on the durabilty reports I hear from people using Lauer Custom Weaponry I may decide to send them something from me.
Edit to add: ROFL, I was wondering why you would have a Garand camoed[:)].
I recommend you keep the Glock as is though.

The Garand looks like something the Alpine Corp would've carried in WWII.
Keep the Glock. I think it looks cool.

nice glock, keep it...
|
|

How hard would it be to remove the finish from the Garand? Is that out of the question? I mean, it looks cool and all, but a Garand should be blued and wood. Period.
By the way, I think that Lauer is handling this in a real class-act kinda way. Sure, they messed up, but they're making it right, and then some.

I'd keep the Glock-I toyed with having one painted 'cause they look sharp, but I was little concerned that it would be more noticeable if it "peeked" out from under my sweater when I was carrying it-but nah it's cool, keep it. [8D]

I like the looks of the Glock, but the Garand?
Nope. Although I'm sure it's a first-rate job, it looks like that rifle was raped. I guess I'm kind of a purist snob when it comes to Garands.
Glad everything was settled to your satisfaction, though.

Sorry,

The Garand is already done. I'd cut a deal & keep it. Good conversation piece, if nothing else. Invent a story about WWII Special Forces Alpine Division using them [:D]

::cries::
500 dollars... oh how I wish I had 500 dollars.
Thats a good price and considering how beautiful that rifle is (And unique too)... it makes me wish I had a job.
I hope that Lauer will be willing to sell it when they get it :)

I think the Glock and Serbu look sweet, but
DAMN. That's sacrilege on the M1!! It looks interesting, but an M1 should never be anything other than wood and parkerized steel, IMHO. Can they strip the paint/finish off? If they could do that on the metal parts, and then get you a new aftermarket walnut stock, that might suffice. That's what I'd request.

The Glock looks cool as hell. You should give me a chance at pointing it at a few perps to see how they like the camo job.[;)]
Honestly though, let me know how it stands up to holster wear.
As for the Garand, I wish I had $500 bucks right now for you, although I do have a Service Grade SA coming from the CMP any day now.....hmmmnnn.

If that was an M1A, instead of a garand, you would be boxing it up for me now. Keep the glock. I don't understand what the big hullabulloo was all about. Laur should have had a chance to know a boo-boo happened before it got brought up on the forum. Seems to me they are making it right. (now I wonder how much they'll charge me to do a carbine in woodland...). Seriously, they look good to me...

That's the ugliest Garand I've ever seen. The only thing I can think to compare it with would be a pimp's Rolls Royce painted in urban camo. [:D] This is more like it:

Keep the Glock, that looks tight as hell...
The Garand may be "ruined" but in a unique way... I kinda like it... it will DEFINITELY stand out in a lineup.
Keep the Glock or sell it to me! [=D]

The Glock is great looking, as is the Serbu. The Garand is OK, but I would probably do the same thing you are doing with it because it looks better in natural wood.

It doesn't matter what you do in life as much as how you live it and the impression you leave behind.
You have never lived until you have almost died. For those who have fought for it, life has a special flavor the protected will never know. |
I'll take the Garand if you'll pay me $500 for my mental anguish. [;)]

I dunno, the more I look at it, the more anguish I suffer. Make that $800. [:D]

The Glock & Serbu look very cool...I'd keep the M1 as is, but they all look neat & different to me.
|
|

Marvl, have you seen the maple version?
I keep changing my mind if I like it or not. They do make some beautiful stocks.

I know it isn't what you wanted, but the paint job has a...something....that's sort of cool. If it is not a professional type carry gun, I would keep it.
The Garand just did not cut it. The M1 is not supposed to look that way at all.
|
|
|
The glock looks awesome. I would have never thought of a camo on one. It's a good mistake!
|
|
|
Here's my take.
1)Garands should not be Camo'd they are classics. Classics should not be tampred with.
2)Glocks should not be camo'd the Tennifer finish is the bomb. To cover it up is like painting over a master piece painting.
This is the word of the Lord(trader)

It's Mine!!!!! Stop making fun of my new Garand![:p]
OK, I'm nuts, I like it! The Glock, the Serbu, the whole shebang!
Seriously, I have a really great friend that I don't get to hang/shoot with as much as I should. He's been after me to get a Garand. Now I've done it [:)]
He is really going to hate it[}:D]
Now where do I get some Clips. I will soon have a gun that takes clips!
DVD Tracker and Lauer,
Thanks for the opportunity!
