So what's the deal? Did you just not like the way the Garand turned out?

Yeah, I've always liked the idea of camoed tactical weapons. Depending on the durabilty reports I hear from people using Lauer Custom Weaponry I may decide to send them something from me. Edit to add: ROFL, I was wondering why you would have a Garand camoed[:)]. I recommend you keep the Glock as is though.

I actually think the Garand looks the best of the three. Looks like an "EVIL" rifle!
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 9:58:14 AM EDT
I like the looks of the Glock, but the Garand? Nope. Although I'm sure it's a first-rate job, it looks like that rifle was raped. I guess I'm kind of a purist snob when it comes to Garands. Glad everything was settled to your satisfaction, though.

Sorry, But that Garand looks like [puke] -

The Garand is already done. I'd cut a deal & keep it. Good conversation piece, if nothing else. Invent a story about WWII Special Forces Alpine Division using them [:D]

My Garand!!!!!!! Whaaaaa!!!!! [>Q]
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 11:56:16 AM EDT
They look good but the pattern doesn't seem to break-up the shape of the weapons.

^^^^^ Not against the red, green, and white table cloth! [:)]

I've got to agree... that is a one of a kind... I like it. Keep the Garand and the Glock as the 'mates' to the Serbu...

Looks like a beautiful matching set to me. I say keep them all! Sgtar15

What coating did they use? What maker is that Garand? I might be interested...... Maybe.
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 12:56:07 PM EDT
::cries:: 500 dollars... oh how I wish I had 500 dollars. Thats a good price and considering how beautiful that rifle is (And unique too)... it makes me wish I had a job. I hope that Lauer will be willing to sell it when they get it :)
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 12:58:52 PM EDT
I think the Glock and Serbu look sweet, but DAMN. That's sacrilege on the M1!! It looks interesting, but an M1 should never be anything other than wood and parkerized steel, IMHO. Can they strip the paint/finish off? If they could do that on the metal parts, and then get you a new aftermarket walnut stock, that might suffice. That's what I'd request.

I would see if they would sent it to Fulton Armory for an upgrade.

$500 for the M1. What year was it made? Maybe I'll take it.

Good observation. You're absolutely correct. This is a great example of fashion camo rather than functional camo. A couple cans of krylon would produce more funtionasl results. What kind of sight picture do you get with those battleship grey Glock sights?(send it back)

The Glock looks cool as hell. You should give me a chance at pointing it at a few perps to see how they like the camo job.[;)] Honestly though, let me know how it stands up to holster wear. As for the Garand, I wish I had $500 bucks right now for you, although I do have a Service Grade SA coming from the CMP any day now.....hmmmnnn.
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 3:03:10 PM EDT
If that was an M1A, instead of a garand, you would be boxing it up for me now. Keep the glock. I don't understand what the big hullabulloo was all about. Laur should have had a chance to know a boo-boo happened before it got brought up on the forum. Seems to me they are making it right. (now I wonder how much they'll charge me to do a carbine in woodland...). Seriously, they look good to me...

That's the ugliest Garand I've ever seen. The only thing I can think to compare it with would be a pimp's Rolls Royce painted in urban camo. [:D] This is more like it:

Not likely, cause a camo M1A would look sweet and would be staying here, but a camo Garand is just not right IMHO. And I just want to clarify for everyone why I posted the original thread. It wasn't done to get people upset at Lauer, it was just to share with everyone what happened. The extended BRC family that we have here shares a lot of stuff with each other. "Lauer made a mistake, here's what happened, I've contacted them and will let you know how they resolve it" was the extent of the intention of my post.

AAHHHHH.that's ok, I have not seen the original post, so don't know what/wasen't said. Looks like they got some good advertising out of it though. Their work looks pretty good to me.

I'll take the Garand if you'll pay me $500 for my mental anguish. [;)]
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 5:14:49 PM EDT
I dunno, the more I look at it, the more anguish I suffer. Make that $800. [:D]
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 5:18:37 PM EDT
The Glock & Serbu look very cool...I'd keep the M1 as is, but they all look neat & different to me.
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 6:07:21 PM EDT
Marvl, have you seen the maple version? I keep changing my mind if I like it or not. They do make some beautiful stocks.

I know it isn't what you wanted, but the paint job has a...something....that's sort of cool. If it is not a professional type carry gun, I would keep it. The Garand just did not cut it. The M1 is not supposed to look that way at all.
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 6:18:12 PM EDT
The glock looks awesome. I would have never thought of a camo on one. It's a good mistake!
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 6:38:00 PM EDT
Here's my take. 1)Garands should not be Camo'd they are classics. Classics should not be tampred with. 2)Glocks should not be camo'd the Tennifer finish is the bomb. To cover it up is like painting over a master piece painting. This is the word of the Lord(trader)
Link Posted: 6/26/2002 7:14:27 PM EDT
It's Mine!!!!! Stop making fun of my new Garand![:p] OK, I'm nuts, I like it! The Glock, the Serbu, the whole shebang! Seriously, I have a really great friend that I don't get to hang/shoot with as much as I should. He's been after me to get a Garand. Now I've done it [:)] He is really going to hate it[}:D] Now where do I get some Clips. I will soon have a gun that takes clips! DVD Tracker and Lauer, Thanks for the opportunity!
