I encounter this all the time and finally decided to post the suggestion here. I'll see if I can explain what I want it to do.
As a comparison, let's look at the quote button in the "insert tags" section. If you just click the quote button, you get a set of quote/unquote tags inserted wherever the cursor is at - but if you have some text highlighted and click the quote button, it encloses the highlighted text in the quote/unquote tags. What I want is for the link button to do something similar. If nothing is highlighted it should act the same as it does now.. but if something is highlighted, take the highlighted text and just ask what link should be associated with that highlighted text. As it is now, anything highlighted is erased and replaced by whatever text is entered in the link button dialog. I'm using the standard system not the WYSIWYG editor. |
