Unleaded was .95/gallon
You remember when gas was .45/gallon? I remember 19.9 cents a gallon. You had your water level checked, air in your tires checked, windows washed, got trading stamps, a glass, a bar of soap and a toy for the kiddies. When I started driving I could fill the tank, take my girlfriend to a movie, buy the extra large popcorn for her at the movie, stop at McDonalds for a snack and still have change out of my 20. |

Profit margin on gas must have been much higher back then.

Wow, hookers were a lot less expensive back then.

I'm too young, but I can still remember seeing SKS's for $149 and Mosin's for $60. 7.62x54R was $39/400 too, IIRC I bought a great frickin SKS for $78 and a 1000 round case of ammo for $98 in 2006. Wish I never sold that gun. My first one, I turned 18 that year. |

I do remember $60 SKS's and AK's for $219. 1K rounds of 7.62 was $69-79.00 My dad still calls the regular size candy bars, "Nickel candy bars" even though they cost about a buck. |

AR15s were around $350 or less
$10.00 could fill up a gas tank $200 could get you a night on the town Cars and trucks were much better You could still get semi auto Uzis for around $150 Women were much more hotter back then The music was better somewhat Movies were better not a whole lot of anti American shit You could still find places to shoot and hunt It was still okay to be a straight conservative white male You could still speak your speak your mind in public |
| I can remember working in the tobacco field all day and getting paid 15.00 for the whole day. I also remember when gas went to .65 and wondering how would we ever be able to pay for it, and the Cadillac Coupe deVille my father bought (brand new) for 11,000.00 back in1977. |

You remember when gas was .45/gallon? Try .18/gallon. ETA. IIRC the higher octane was called eythel, you had regular and eythel. Pull up to the pump, hear the bell go ding ding when you ran over the rubber line in the pump lane, the attendant comes out, ya tell him, fill'er up with eythel and get full service. Never have to get out of the car. |

I remember when $125 bought a case of 7.62x39 and an SKS I also remember Legend AK47s costing 700-800 bucks and they were the only game in town so to speak Dude... 7.62 was as little as $69.99 per thousand from Classic Arms just about 5 years ago.. Yes, 2005. |
| Gas was .19/gallon, unleaded didn't exist, my Dad bought me and my Brother 2 WW2 surplus guns, one a German mauser, and the other a British .303, gave $3.00 each. They were stacked on end in a wooden barrel at a surplus store in downton Houston. We took those 2 heavy mothers everywhere around the neighboorhood, even to show and tell. No one cared. Those were the days. |

I remember when $1.85 was an expensive pack of cigs. I remember cigarette machines sold packs for .50 for many years. My father had a restaurant with a cigarette machine near the front door. He bought cases of cigarettes and figured he was getting them for .23 a pack. He sold them from behind the counter for .35 a pack and made a profit. |
