02/28 UPDATE: BigBryce31186 has graciously offered to send two Pmags to whoever buys the 500th ticket!! - UPDATE: TRobertson5-0 is the winner!! My middle boy (15) belongs to a junior high power team here in IL, Illinois Hard Dogs. Kids from 13 to 21 are given a rifle, ammo, jacket, glove, mat, spotting scope to use for the season. Cost is 150.00 and the kids are given 100 raffle tickets to sell. This helps offset the cost of the program. In year's past we've had 20+ kids, these days we have around 6  We can support up to 30Me being self employed I don't have a venue to sell tickets to coworkers. Some parents take the tickets to work and sell them. Going door to door these days is not a great idea either. Mods, would I be able to offer the tickets on arfcom? Everything is on the up and up. The junior program is a registered non-profit. I'm trying to think of ways to keep this program going. Breaks my heart seeing all of those service rifles just sitting in the vault. A couple of links. UPDATE: I emailed pics of the first 100 tickets purchased. I am planning to pick up the next batch of 200 tomorrow (weather permitting) and I will work on them over the next couple of days and email pics to everyone else. Easy-peasy lemon squeezy, support has been gladly provided. Keep your inbox clean, OP. I'm hoping lots of others will jump in, too. Not to reduce my odds of winning, of course, but nationwide, kids' shooting programs have been under a ton of pressure. Some can't find dedicated coaches who can afford the time, some can't find good places to shoot, some can't find funding, and some are just beaten down by misguided people who think guns turn children into killers. I donate a lot of money every year to "pro-gun" politicians and pro-gun groups, and often question what good my dollars are actually doing. This is an opportunity to make a donation with a much more tangible impact. Teaching young people to shoot responsibly and shoot well might be the most effective investment we can make as supporters of the 2nd Amendment. Not just for the future of our sport, but for the future of our freedom, I hope many arfcommers will contribute to the cause. |
